Elsie G. Sisbach Elsie G. Sisbach, 93, of rural Westby died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at her home. She was born Oct. 17, 1910, in rural Viroqua, Vernon County, to Arlo and Jessie May (Higgins) Mason. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. She married John Sisbach Sr. on Dec. 31, 1928, in Winona, Minn. The couple farmed at Newton Valley for 19 years and then farmed on Chaseburg Ridge from 1947 to 1965, when they retired to Timber Coulee, rural Westby. Mr. Sisbach died Feb. 27, 1979. Elsie was a member of Coon Valley Lutheran Church and Anna Circle. She enjoyed her flowers and adopted many stray cats and gave them a good home. Survivors include one son, John (Anna Marie); and two daughters, Evelyn Williams and Mary (Allan) Stakston, all of Westby; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman (Velma) Mason of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel, a son-in-law, Noah Williams; and three brothers, Robert, Everett and Thomas Mason. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Pastors Jack Mithelman and Bob Barker will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Seland Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. PEORIA, Ariz. - Ruth (DeLap) Bayles, 84, passed away June 8, 2002, in Peoria, following a brief illness. She was born in Sterling township, Vernon County, Wis., on Feb. 5, 1918, to Julia and Reuben DeLap. She was a graduate of Viroqua High School and La Crosse State Teachers College. She worked for the Trane Co. in La Crosse, until a civil service job took her to Washington D.C. where she worked for the Railroad Retirement Board as a typist. She married Roger M. Bayles of LaValle, Wis., on Oct. 4, 1940, in the District of Columbia. They resided in Alexandria, Va., where they raised two daughters, Karyl Ann and Janet. Ruth was involved in the girls activities, did alter flower arrangements for the Methodist Church, was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed golf. Both children preceded their parents in death. Roger retired from Eastman Kodak Co., and they moved to Sun City, Ariz. Roger preceded her in death in 1987. Two brothers, Dr. Kenneth DeLap and Karl DeLap, both of Viroqua; and a sister, Maurine (DeLap) Severson of Belleville, Wis., preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother, Bernard DeLap of Viroqua; and a sister, Lorraine (DeLap) Hendrickson of Waunakee, Wis., along with many nieces, nephews, and good friends. The Rev. Hien of Concordia Methodist Church in Prairie du Sac will officiate at graveside service at the Sauk Prairie Cemetery on Hwy. 12 and Z on June 27, 2002, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ., 85014.
