Thomas Arlo Mason Thomas A Mason, age 92 of Viroqua, died peacefully in the company of his three daughters, Sunday, February 20, 2000 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua where he had been a resident since October 1997. He was born October 7, 1907 in rural Viroqua to Arlo and Jessie (Higgins) Mason. On June 25.19;30 he was married to Mildred Fredrickson in Viroqua by Rev. Kleven. Tom was a self-employed electrician and refrigeration repairman. He has been a member of the Viroqua Church of Christ since 1958 and served as deacon and trustee for a number of years. Tom was also a member of the Vernon Electricians Assoc., the Gideons Society and the Viroqua Odd Fellows for over 25 years. Survivors include three daughters. Gloria (Merlin) Freilinger of Denver, Iowa. Mary (Arden) Thompson and Barbara (Gene) Anderson, both of Viroqua; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Sisbach of rural Westby; a brother. Herman Mason of Sparta and many nieces. nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, David; a grandson, Michael Thompson; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Thompson Edwards; and a brother, Everett. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Pastors Shane Thompson and Joe Adams officiated with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends called at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua for visitation and a prayer service Tuesday evening and on Wednesday at the church until time of services. Special music was by Amanda Hanson and Nathan and Diane Martin. Organist was Ruth McClurg. Serving as pallbearers were: George Hanson. Howard Hanson. Vincent Thompson, Brian Rood, John Sisbach, Gary Mason, Dale Mason and Nathan Martin.
