Donald R. DeLap, age 72 of Ridgeland, Wisconsin, died Sunday, February 28, 1999 at his home from a heart attack. Donald was born May 2, 1926 to Russell and Elizabeth (Sheldon) DeLap in the town of Harmony Vernon County. He was raised in the Vernon County area and December 16, 1950 he was married to Muriel Christopherson in Waukegan, Illinois. They lived in the Milwaukee area for 40 years where Donald was employed by Rexnord Manufacturing. After their retirement, they moved to the Ridgeland area in 1988. Donald had been working at the recycling center in Colfax for some time. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Ridgeland. Donald enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. He is survived by his wife, Muriel; three sons, Charles (Joan Nichols) of New Berlin, Russel (Bonnie) of Brookfield; and Jeffery DeLap and fiancee Christi of West Allis; two daughters, Linda Keheres-Miller (Laurence) of New Berlin and Pam (David) Jenks of Oak Creek; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Gilman, and Ona Veglahn, both of Viroqua; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Fred, Vernon, Ray, Berlie and Nathan; and two sisters, Hazel Erickson and Hope Sandwick Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 3 from New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church in Ridgeland with Rev. Barbara Koch officiating with interment in the church cemetery. Mark Rausch Funeral Service of Dallas and Cameron, Wisconsin assisted the family.
