Ray Emerald DeLap was born on 26 Feb 1914 in Jefferson Township, Vernon County, Wisconsin, USAG. He and Beatrice De Rosier were married on 2 Nov 1945 in Waukon, Allamakee County, IowaG. He died on 19 Aug 1980, at age 66, in Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin, USAG.
Ray Emerald DeLap, 66, of Racine, Wis., passed away suddenly August 19, 1980 in St. Mary's Hospital of a heart attack. He was born in Jefferson Township February 26, 1914 to Russell and Lizzie (Sheldon) DeLap. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. On November 2, 1945 he married Beatrice De Rosier in Waukon Iowa. To this union was born three children. He served two years in the Navy during World War II. Upon his return from the service he farmed several years in Vernon County. He then moved to Racine where he was employed at J. I. Case Co., until his retirement three years ago. Survivors include his wife, one son, Dale, and two daughters Rae Hope and Avis of Racine, also ten step-children and several grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Sever (Hazel) Erickson, of Westby; Mrs. Earl (Mae) Gilman of La Farge; Mrs. Percy (Hope) Sandwick De Soto, Ona Veglahn of Kenosha and five brothers, Fred of Victory, Vernon and Nathan of Viroqua, Donald, Milwaukee and Berlie of Ft. Benton, Montana. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Ray was a kind and loving husband, father and brother and will be sadly missed by all. Blessed be his memory. Funeral services were held August 22, 1960 at the Draeger Funeral Home in Racine with the Rev. Gerold R. Martin officiating. Interment was at the West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine. Ray Emerald DeLap was enumerated on the census of 1930 in Genoa City, Vernon County, Wisconsin, USAG. He was Event bef 1951 in Tennessee, USAG, 412-09-1365.
