John Rigg

circa 1688 - 1711

Charles County, Maryland

John Rigg's inventory was quite meager compared to others of that time and place: an old horse, saddle and bridle, feathers, two old fishing lines and hooks, two spoons and a shirt.
This suggests to me that he was a young adult just starting out in life when he died. His birth circa 1688 is a working hypothesis consistent with his being old enough to have been married but not old enough to have accumulated anything. If his widow, Susannah, was the same widow Susannah Rigg who later married Cleborn Lomax, she would have been 20 years old at the time of his death. I've estimated him to have been around 23.
