She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Eskie Riggs Ferguson, born Oct. 17, 1923, in Wayne County, West Virginia. Mrs. Maynard retired as a State Farm Insurance office manager in Chesapeake. She was a member of Burlington Baptist Church, where she served many years as church clerk and Sunday school secretary. She was also a graduate of Fort Gay High School and the Huntington College of Business. She had been a resident of Athens since 2001. She is survived by a daughter Linda (Ronald) Cox of Athens; a special granddaughter, K. Marie Letson of Manitou Beach, Mich.; three grandchildren, Michelle Cox of Manitou Beach, Mich., Joe Cox of Manitou Beach, Mich., and Mathew Cox of Hillsdale, Mich.; three sisters, Dorene Simpkins of Huntington, W.Va., Betty (Bill) Adkins of Hurricane, W.Va., and Glenna (Charles) Wellman of Huntington, W.Va.; three brothers Joe (Leeta) Ferguson of Bristol, Va., and Bill (Billie) Ferguson of Ashland, Ky. Mrs. Maynard is preceded in death by a sister, Doris Finley and two brothers, Harold and Frank Ferguson. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, Ohio, by Pastor Bert Christian with burial in Alexander Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Guild of OB́leness Memorial Hospital, 55 Hospital Drive, Athens, Ohio 45701.
