JULIA DRUZELLA "Dru" SMITH, 85, of Wayne, formerly of Kenova, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, in the Wayne Continuous Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Minister Don Wright. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Buffalo Creek. Dru was born August 6, 1918, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Hutchinson Smith. She was a member of the Ceredo Church of Christ. Survivors include one sister, Gladys B. Smith of Wayne; a brother-in-law, Wetzel Spurlock; a sister-in-law, Phoebe "Peggy" Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roy Hutchinson, Charles Smith, William "Bill" Smith, Leonard Smith, Leo Smith, Ollie Smith and Harold C. Smith; and five sisters, Martha Black, Mary Pelphrey, Ruth Spurlock, Minnie Dingess and Emma Wellman. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home. A special thanks to the staff of Wayne Continuous Care. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
