M. Wayne Beck, 66, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at his residence in Mt. Carmel. He was born, May 9, 1940 in Wabash County, the son of Marion and Blanche Loeffler Beck. Wayne was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and, prior to his retirement in 2002, he served as vice-president of First National Bank of Allendale and Mt. Carmel. He was a member of Rotary International and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a past president and director of the local Chamber of Commerce and was in charge of the lemonade stand at Ag Days for many years. He enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, camping and was an avid Cardinals fan. He married Sherry Houchins Noble on Nov. 29, 1986, and she survives. Wayne and Sherryś mutual love of Southern Gospel music brought them together and remained a constant enjoyment for 20 years. Other survivors include his children, Angie (James) Worley of Big Spring, Texas, Micah (Tammy) Beck of Lakenheath Air Force Base, U.K., Brian (Lori) Beck of Ira, Texas, Stephanie (Matt) Yeats of Big Spring, Matt Noble of Mt. Carmel and Stefani (Randy) Medler of Allendale. Surviving grandchildren are Timothy and Crystal Worley, Mikayla and Dylan Beck, Cami, Jake and Steven Beck, Aaron Michael Farr and Alexys Yeats, and Elizabeth, Vaida and Sam Medler. He is also survived by two sisters, Norma (George) Campbell of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kay (John) Warthen of Springerton, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Joan Beck of Mt. Carmel and Mary Lou Beck of Alton, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Marynell Marsh of Mt. Carmel, and a special friend, Nell Kupper of Big Spring. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Fred Beck; a brother-in-law, Dennis Houchins; and a niece, Laverne Minalga. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 2010 North Cherry St., Mt. Carmel, with Revs. Curt Rush and Nelson Reiber officiating. Burial will follow at Orio Cemetery. Friends may call at Cunningham Funeral Home, 403 North Cherry St., Mt. Carmel, tonight (Monday, March 26) from 4-8 p.m. Marion Wayne Beck resided in Allendale, Wabash County, Illinois, USAG, in 1985.3
