He married Mary Louise Stout on Aug. 14, 1955. She survives. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of West Salem, Ill., and also a member of the Olney and Mt. Carmel Radio Clubs. He was a retired veteran serving for 20 years in the U.S. Army Security Agency. He also worked for Champion Lab. He was a very good father and grandpa. Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sons, Howard (Michele) Clodfelter, Olney, and David (Gail) Clodfelter, Springfield; four grandchildren, Josh, Lisa and Konnor Clodfelter and Shane Streder. Preceding him in death were his parents. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, at Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, with burial in Moravian Cemetery with Military Rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at Zion United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church of West Salem or Hospice of Southeastern Illinois. Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem is in charge of all arrangements.
